EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique

What is EFT?

Emotional Freedom technique is designed to release any issue (feeling) that is brought up by an experience or memory.

What is it suppose to do?

Is based on connection between your body's subtle energies, your emotions, and your health. EFT is supposedly successful emotional, health and performance issues.

Where was this idea created?

Gary Craig, the originator of EFT, has argued that tapping anywhere on the body will manipulate "energy meridians". Combining two well know sciences that of Mind Body Medicine and Acupuncture.

About Mr. Craig

Was born in April 1940 and since the age of 13 has had a great personal interest in psychology. He states, "that's when I recognised that the quality of my thoughts was mirrored by the quality of my life."

He learned the core of ET from Dr. Roger Callahan.

Mr. Craig is also a Certified Master Practitioner in the field of Nuero Linguistic Programing (NLP).

How it works?

You focus on the uncomfortable feeling and with your fingertips you tap certain acupuncture (meridian) pressure points. Basically its acupuncture without the needles. And say "Even though I have this feeling ... I deeply and completely accept myself." and at each point you tap, you continue to say, "this feeling."

And, what it's suppose to do is release and let go all of those uncomfortable feelings.

It may take a few rounds, say five times to feel any difference towards the memory or feeling of that emotion as there may be several layers of intensity before you can allow yourself to let go.

Finally, EFT is safe and can be done on oneself as its a very simple technique. You have to bring out an event (memory) and focus on the feeling it brings - if you feel unsure, then it would advisable to consult your medical practitioner first before making any application, otherwise feel free to proceed, its your memory, your in charge.
